Help, I have acne and I'm 35!!

One in five people between the ages of 25 and 40 suffer from adult acne. Here are two facts about adult acne and how to rid your skin of it.

Fact  # 1. Acne usually begins with Blackheads. Red Pimples develop when blackheads become inflammed. Pimples spread rapidly when touched with dirty hands. When the pimple becomes infected it developes a white head or pustule. These can break and in severe cases can cause acne scars.
How to get rid of Blackheads?
Gently exfoliate 2-3 times and week and keep skin clean with 2x daily cleasing.

Fact  # 2 There are several causes of adult acne. These are: Stress, bad cosmetics, hormones and birth control pills. Stress causes your oil glands to overcompensate. Bad cosmetics lead to bacteria overladed skin pores. Hormones cause the sebaceous glands to overact and Birth Control Pills with androgen in them can cause break outs.
To keep acne break outs at bay use:
  1. Aloe Vera Face and Body Wash
  2. Exfoliant
  3. Aloe Vera Pure Organic Face and Body Lotion
  4. Aloe Vera Face and Body Milk
  5. Regular deep cleansing Green Clay Mask

Anti Aging Skin Care and Makeup Tips

Problem: Broken capillaries, redness, deepening surface lines, rough, dry skin texture and lack of hydration dull the appearance of your skin.
Solution: Hydrate and Smooth your face and skin around your eyes with Antioxidant Serum and Eye Serum  then apply your mineral foundation of choice. Not only will the foundation go on far more evenly and bond with your skin better, but your skin will also retain a fresh appearance. Well hydrated skin diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and plumps the skin up.
Use a Primer. Face and Body Milk is an exellent foundation primer It fills in minor lines and pores, disguising thier appearance and creates the perfect base to apply your mineral foundation.

Problem: Dull and lifeless looking Skin, Blocked pores, uneven skin tone and pigmentation problems.
Solution: Step up exfoliation in your skin care routine with Aloe Vera Face and Body Exfoliant; 2-3x week. Exfoliation stimulates circulation and removes dead skin cells. New skin cells can now surface and your toner and moisturiser can do thier job more effectively.

Problem: Thinning Skin...As we age our skin thins, skin becomes mores transparent, producting darker circles of blue, purple and red under our eyes.
Solution: Use and Apricot Concealer. Apply Apricot Concealer thn follow with a setting powder for staying power.
Note: Make sure you have used a hydrating Eye Serum prior to apply concealer for nourishment and greater blending ease.

Problem: Crows Feet and Lines. The inevitable evidence of years lived with laughter, tears, sunshine and squinting finally show.
Solution:  Hydrate and Smooth your face and skin around your eyes with Antioxidant Serum and Eye Serum then apply your Cream of choice. You are now ready for your mineral foundation. For your eye makeup choose complementing tones and colors, dramatic colors can look wrong if not applied with practise! The same goes for the lip area. Use a mineral lipstick that won't run to the creases and a good lipliner. Always keep your skin well exfoliated and moisturised and a regular clay mask would work wonders to help your skin keep looking it's best for years to come!

Aluminium Free Crystal Deodorant recommended by Breast Cancer Support Group

Many women have been advised to use crystal deodorants by breast cancer support groups around the country. They were told not to use anti - perspirants and gluggy deodorants because of their suspected link with the disease. “Anti - perspirant, as the name indicates, stops you from perspiring, thereby prohibiting the body from performing its natural function of purging toxins from the armpits.“These toxins do not just magically disappear. Instead, the body deposits them in the lymph nodes below the armpits because it cannot sweat them out.
“Nearly all breast cancer tumours occur in the upper outside quadrant of the breast area. This is precisely where the lymph nodes are located
”Breast cancer sufferer Val Higson of Brisbane said the Royal Brisbane Hospital’s breast cancer support group recommended she use the crystal because it did not contain sticky oils, gels, perfumes or aluminium chlorohydrates.

Our Organic Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant is a natural anti bacterial formula to protect you against odour without clogging or coating the pores of your skin. This Organic Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant is hypo allergenic, non stain, non sting and without Aluminium.
Organic Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant ensures confidence against odour whilst your skin is soothed, replenished and rehydrated.
Recommended for pregnant women and those with sensitive skin.
The crystal is a blend of mineral salts formed by hot spring waters deep in the earth. Combined with Organic Aloe Vera this deodorant provides essential minerals, vitamins & trace elements to the skin.

Improve the look, feel and texture of your skin naturally

Why do so many personal care products and cosmetics contain potentially harmful ingredients? The simple answer is: because they are cheap, readily available, and easy to dilute.

Are there non toxic, Natural Skin Care and Personal Care Products out there that deliver results? Yes, loads! There are many great quality organic and natural personal care products, skin care products and cosmetics out there that are hand made with love, but don not trust a label just because it reads 'All Natural', read on... Unfortunately the market is being flooded with companies trying to sell you personal care products that are not at all 'All Natural'.

What can you do to keep your skin healthy without using potentially harmful substances? Eat plenty of fresh, raw food and getting enough omega 3 fats are ways to improve your skin... You are what you eat. Need I mention exercise? Through exercise, your skin detoxifies impurities from your system; known as perspiration... And do not smoke. But beyond that, here is a critically important step to skin care you need to be aware of…Just 5 minutes per day gets you on the road to a younger looking, vibrant face : use natural skin care products and have a daily skin care routine.

Every day of your life, pollution, grime and dust attach to your skin. If you don not take a couple minutes each day to cleanse your face and unclog your pores, your skin may look sluggish instead of its bright and shiny best. Take time to thoroughly cleanse your skin with natural skin care products and you will find your face looking and feeling younger. Please refer to our Natural Skin Care Routine for healthy, glowing skin. If you will be in the sun for extended periods of time, use a natural Zinc Oxide Mineral Sunscreen with safe and effective ingredients

Don’t expect overnight changes when trying to improve the look and texture of your skin. Don’t be discouraged with seeming lack of progress. It may take a week, a month or even two to notice changes and bring your skin back to a natural, healthy balance. Plus, it is quite possible that others will notice your increasingly youthful-looking face before you do!

Check your personal care products for these toxins now!

If your Personal Care Products and cosmetics contain any of the following chemicals, you may like to reconsider whether you want to continue applying these toxins to your skin, hair and body - and to your families.

Believe it or not, the following toxic chemicals are NOT ALL the dangerous chemicals found in your everyday skin care and personal care products.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
This harsh detergent and emulsifier, petroleum derived, strips skin and hair of its natural oils, increasing skin permeability and allowing absorption of other toxic chemicals into the dermis and bloodstream. This is a known skin irritant, causing skin rashes. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate can cause eye irritation and conditions like cataracts, blindness, organ damage, damage to your immune system, respiratory damage, headaches and vomiting. SLS is found in nearly anything that lathers, including toothpastes, shampoos, body washes and skin moisturisers.

Formaldehyde
This highly toxic preservative causes skin rashes and has been linked to cancer, irritation of the eyes, nose and throat, skin irritation, dermatitis, asthma, shortness of breath, nose bleeds, nausea and vomiting, chest pains and dizziness. Formaldehyde is used in nail polish, nail hardeners, mascara, soaps, shampoos, many moisturising creams, bubble bath and deodorants.
These chemicals are derived from Formaldehyde and should also be avoided.
• Imidazolidinyl urea (can cause contact dermatitis)
• Diazolidinyl urea (can cause contact dermatitis)
• 2-bromo-2nitropane-1
• 3-diol
• DMDM hydantoin
• Quaternium 15

Isopropyl alcohol
This anti-foaming agent, petroleum derived, can damage hair and cause skin rashes. Toxic to the liver, kidney, respiratory and gastro-intestinal systems. A teratogenic which has been linked to foetal and birth defects. This dangerous chemical is found in hair dyes, moisturisers, aftershaves, antifreeze, carpet cleaner and the list goes on.

Paraffin
From petroleum or tar, Paraffin is a non-renewable resource that has a negative impact on our environment. Your skin initially feels smoother due to the surface layer
Paraffin forms but your skin can't 'breathe' and is de-hydrated by any petroleum based skin care product. This starts a cycle of continued use to prevent the feeling of dryness, which the product is actually responsible for. Used in wax strips, skin moisturisers, body oils etc.

Petrolatum (Petroleum jelly)
An incredibly cheap mineral oil derivative that will de-hydrate and dry your skin out, strangely enough this is used in skin moisturisers and lip balms specifically targeted at dry skin and lips! Used in products recommended for nappy rash. Talk about self perpetuating products!

Propylene glycol
This humectant is another petrochemical mix that can cause allergic reactions, skin rashes, hives and eczema. Also found in brake fluid and anti-freeze. Please avoid the chemicals below which are very similar.
• PEG (polyethylene glycol) (A by-product of PEG-stearate-20 that was used during WW1 as a toxic gas!)
• PPG (polypropylene glycol)

Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl Parabens
A preservative used to extend shelf life, Parabens can cause skin rashes and allergic reactions. These preservatives can interfere with the endocrine system with properties known for oestrogen mimicking. Studies have connected paraben exposure and breast cancer.

Fragrances
A general term referring to as many as 200 synthetic fragrances, none of which are required to be individually labelled. Often petroleum based, fragrances can cause dizziness, skin rashes and pigmentation which is why some people have brown skin marks where they apply perfume. “Fragrance –free” products can contain chemicals to mask unpleasant smells.

DEA (diethanolamine) and MEA (monoethanolamine)
These chemicals are ‘amines’ (ammonia compounds) and can form cancer-causing nitrosamines when in contact with nitrates. Used as emulsifiers and foaming agents,
they cause eye, hair and skin irritation and skin rashes and are toxic if absorbed for a long period of time. DEA is known to cause liver and kidney tumours in mice. DEA is
still used in many products in Australia, despite international warnings. These chemical compounds cause allergic reactions, irritate eyes and dry the hair and skin. Any product with MEA or DEA listed individually or in combination with another ingredient (e.g. cocamide DEA) should certainly be avoided.

Methylisothiazolinnone
A preservative linked to allergic reactions and skin rashes.

Artificial Colours
FDC RED 4, FDC RED 1 or FOOD RED 1, should all be avoided. Banned in food but can still be used in personal care, skin care and cosmetics. Known to cause urinary bladder polyps and deterioration of the adrenal glands.

Coal Tar
(FD & C) and (D & C) colours to be avoided. Derived from petroleum coal tars and linked to asthma, headaches, nausea, fatigue, nervousness and lack of concentration. Coal Tars are confirmed human carcinogens and skin irritants. They are thought to increase risk of tumour growth. Used in anti-dandruff shampoos and for colouring cosmetics.

TEA (Triethanolamine)
Emulsifier, skin irritant and known mutagen, which causes changes in cellular DNA. TEA is also a contact allergen causing eczema and skin rashes. Used in skin care products and to coat non-organically grown fruit and vegetables.

Tallow
Watch out vegetarians!! Made from boiled sheep organs, this is used in lipsticks, soaps and shaving cream...

Fluoride
Used in toothpaste this industrial waste product can reduce the risk of dental cavities, it has however been linked with cancer, hypothyroidism, osteoporosis, birth defects, increased risk of fractures, dental and skeletal fluorosis and impaired brain function. Used by Hitler in concentration camps to pacify detainees.

Shocking, isn't it?

Are there non toxic Personal Care Products out there that deliver results?

• Yes, loads! There are many great quality organic and natural personal care products out there that are hand made with love, but don't trust a label just because it sais 'All Natural', read on... Unfortunately the market is being flooded with companies trying to sell you products that aren't at all 'All Natural'.

Aloe Vera Products for Combination/Oily Skin and Acne

Hi,
I have just come across your website and would like some advice as to w
hich of your products to use for my skin. I am 32 and have had moderate cases of acne on & off for many years now. This latest bout has left me with many scars which makes me uncomfortable without makeup. To top it off I have chloasma but this seems to have calmed down through changing my contraceptive pill. By the end of the day my skin can be a bit oily, I still have blackheads around the nose area. So, I guess I have oily/comination skin. Could you please suggest a skin care routine with the aloe vera products that can especially help with the scarring.
Merry christmas and I look forward to hearing from you (and using your products!).

Dear Agnes,

Thank you for taking the time to write to me. Well, let's hope we can sort this out for you. I would suggest:

1. Regular cleansing with our gently Face and Body Wash, or Bar if you prefer. It is most important that you cleanse regularly. For a more luxurious cleansing milk, use our Face and Body Milk.

2.Organic aloe vera exfoliant. The base of this refreshing exfoliant is very similar to our Face and Body Milk. Use this 2-3x week but don't scrub, just wipe a little exfoliant gently over dry skin with wet hands, then wash off or just brush off with a tissue, which ever you prefer.

3. Aloe Vera Face and Body Lotion to re-hrdrate your skin and to start the repair process.. Use this as your toner, spay onto clean face and body whenever needed. Keep it in the fridge for for hot days! this is 99% pure organic Aloe Vera and will repair, protect and moisturise your skin. Aloe Vera has anti-bacterial properties and will keep acne at bay.

4. I would love to suggest the anti-oxidant serum as an additional boost for your skin. Apply morning and night once your toner has absorbed. this Serum will also assist with any skin discoloration.

5. Aloe Vera Repair Oil. This might sound odd but I suggest you add a few drops of oil to a few drops of water in your cupped hand mix and apply to your face. this won't leave you feeling at all oily and will repair and moisturise your skin. Oily skin needs lots of moisture.

6. Face and Body Milk . As your daily moisturiser, after repair oil morning and night.

7. A Green Clay Mask once a week would be really beneficial too.

The Products I have recommended are available in our Oily/Combination Skin Essential PackSuncare Plus Moisturiser comes tinted and our Mineral Foundation has SPF20+. Suncare Plus is a thicker cream and would suit you if you have a darker complexion. If your skin is fair I would suggest a mineral foundation and use a good brush to achieve a natural look with good coverage.
with the Antioxidant serum as an extra. I also recommend that you use a mineral sunscreen or mineral foundation with SPF. Our

I hope this is helpful and answeres your questions. I have recommended a full routine that I am sure, will improve the condition and appearance of your skin.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Christmas.

Kind Regards

Fiona McColl

Cellulite Treatment and Reduction Plan.

Are you serious about cellulite treatment and cellulite reduction with lasting results? Yes? Then we offer a seven point plan of attack:

Most people with a cellulite problem understand that there are no quick fixes when it comes to cellulite treatment. Discipline and daily cellulite treatments are required to get rid of cellulite and reduce it’s appearance with lasting results. Cellulite is not simple fat, but a way in which your body reacts to a build-up of toxins in the connective tissue in the skin.

What causes Cellulite:
• Poor circulation
• Poor lymph drainage
• Lack of oxygen
• Unbalanced endocrine system
• Water retention
• Allergy - especially to wheat and milk products
• Hormonal changes
• Toxicity - both environmental and/or dietary
In order to fight cellulite we need to address circulation, water retention and toxicity in your body. This is going to be a combined effort of addressing lifestyle and daily cellulite treatments.
1. Increase blood circulation: - Exfoliate - Skin brushing with real bristles—upward movements in the shower (lymph drainage)
2. Exercise- A large part of treating cellulite is creating a lifestyle which helps manage fat in the body. By building muscle mass in cellulite affected areas we help burn fat which avoids it turning into more cellulite. Muscles work to stretch and smooth dimpled skin. As a result legs will be firmer and you will feel and look great! Recommended types of exercise to treat cellulite prone areas such as the thighs and buttocks are: Walking, stair climbing, yoga, Pilates, squats, Martial arts, kick boxing, running around with children...
3. Massage every day - to treat cellulite it is important to massage cellulite affected areas daily with a body brush. You can do so in the shower or on dry skin. To help increase circulation under the skin massage with an exfoliating body wash. This also helps to stimulate blood flow and get fat cells moving elsewhere!
4. Natural Cellulite Oil combined especially to treat cellulite - add to bath with Epson salts to penetrate skin by osmosis. Whilst in the bath, pinch and pummel cellulite areas to assist in breaking down fatty deposits.
5. Increase Oxygen flow- breathe deeply. Breathing is vital and helps the body detox.
6. Relaxation to shift toxins, waste and fat.
7. Address your Diet - Increase of vitamins and minerals such as raw vegetables including bean sprouts - all soaked and scrubbed. Cut out Tea, Coffee, Alcohol, drink lots of water to flush out those toxins.
Natural Cellulite treatment has shown to increase circulation and eliminate toxins, shrink fat cells and drain fluids, which results in firm, toned thighs and/or buttocks with restored and increased elasticity of your skin, which helps prevent the formation of new cellulite!
Important Note: Natural Cellulite Oil does not contain aminophylline, a harsh chemical used to treat asthma. While some cellulite cream manufacturers claim aminophylline reduces cellulite, this is not proven by substantial research.

Best sunscreen in Zinc Oxide

Best sunscreen is Zinc Oxide.

Chemical sunscreens do protect against sunburn but there is no scientific proof they protect against skin cancer. We explain why Zinc Oxide is the best sunscreen:

Zinc oxide is a natural mineral known as zincite. It has been used safely for generations to shield against the harmful effects of the sun. Micronised zinc oxide is transparent on your skin with all the natural benefits of the best Sunscreen protection.

Zinc oxide is the best sunscreen

• Sun blocks, such as zinc oxide, work by physically reflecting the sun’s rays and are effective against both UV-B and UV-A rays, making it the best sunscreen!

• Unlike chemical sunscreen ingredients, zinc oxide cannot be absorbed into the skin and is not metabolized by the body, making it the best sunscreen!

• Zinc oxide is micronised (nanoparticles) and does not leave a heavy white coating on the skin (like traditional zinc formulas do). Being clear/transparent on the skin makes Zinc Oxide sunscreen practical and means people actually wear it, making it the best sunscreen!

• Zinc oxide provides a thin film of micro-fine particles over the skin. This ensures a protective physical barrier over the skin ensuring the most complete protection for your skin all year round, making it the best sunscreen!...I’m sure you get my point!

• Additionally, unlike most chemical sunscreen ingredients, zinc oxide is known to be stable and it won’t degrade in the sun.

• Zinc oxide is the only sunscreen ingredient recognized by the FDA as a Category I Skin Protectant and is recommended for use on environmentally challenged skin.

• Zinc oxide is the only ingredient that is FDA recognized as having both UVB and UVA broad spectrum protection/

• Zinc oxide is for the most part insoluble in water, but is soluble in acids and alkalis, making it water- and wear-proof with excellent screen effect to UV-A and UV-B.

• Safe for use on lips, face, body and nails.

Chemical Sunscreens

Chemical sunscreen ingredients are designed to absorb portions of the UVB (burning rays) or UVA (cause of aging and skin cancer) rays and are often used in combination to achieve adequate UVB and at best, limited UVA protection.

• Many sunscreens only protect against UVB rays and allow penetration of damaging UVA rays

• Common chemical sunscreen ingredients are known carcinogens and/or hormone disrupters, including diethanolamine, triethanolamine (DEA, TEA), padimate-o, octyl dimethyl PABA, benzophenone, oxybenzone, homosalate, octyl-methoxycinnamate (octinoxate), salicylates, and parabens.

Zinc Oxide as a sunscreen vs. chemical sunscreens

Why use Zinc oxide as a sunscreen?

• Zinc oxide is a natural mineral known as zincite. It has been used safely for generations to shield against the harmful effects of the sun.

• Zinc oxide is used because it provides a thin film of micro-fine particles over the skin. This ensures a protective physical barrier over the skin ensuring the mostcomplete protection for your skin all year round.

• Physical sun blocks, such as zinc oxide, work by physically reflecting the sun’s rays and are effective against both UV-B and UV-A rays.

• Unlike chemical sunscreen ingredients, zinc oxide cannot be absorbed into the skin and is not metabolized by the body.

• Additionally, unlike most chemical sunscreen ingredients, zinc oxide is known to be stable and it won’t degrade in the sun. As well, it is the only sunscreen ingredient recognized by the FDA as a Category I Skin Protectant and is recommended for use on environmentally challenged skin.

Zinc oxide is for the most part insoluble in water, but is soluble in acids and alkalis. Used as a Sunscreen and anti-bacteria in cosmetics, zinc oxide has excellent screen effect to UV-A and UV-B.

• Safe for use on lips, face, body and nails.

• Zinc oxide is the only ingredient that is FDA recognised as having both UVB and UVA broad spectrum protection

• Zinc oxide is Micronised (nanoparticles) so that our skin does not have that heavy white effect on the surface (like traditional zinc formulas). This makes the treatment practical and means people actually wear it.

Chemical Sunscreens

Chemical sunscreen ingredients are designed to absorb portions of the UVB (burning rays) or UVA (cause of aging and skin cancer) rays and are often used in combination to achieve adequate UVB and at best, limited UVA protection.

Many sunscreens only protect against UVB rays and allow penetration of damaging UVA rays

Most people think that sunscreens protect against skin cancer. While sunscreens do protect against sunburn, there is no scientific proof that they protect against melanoma or basal cell carcinoma in humans.

UV-A and UV-B – what are they?

UV-B rays are most commonly associated with sunburns but it is the UV-A rays which penetrate through the outer layers of the skin to the dermis, or base layer of the skin.

UV-A rays are thought by many to cause wrinkling or premature aging of the skin. As well, UV-A rays can cause suppression of the immune system and can contribute to the development of melanoma. Sunscreens which chemically absorb rays have long been effective against UV-B rays. New chemicals are being added today to help screen some UV-A rays. Some of these chemicals, however, are thought to deteriorate in light and could possibly interrupt with UV-B absorbing ingredients, while others can cause irritations to the skin or worse.

Common sunscreen ingredients are suspected or known carcinogens and/or hormone disrupters, including diethanolamine, triethanolamine (DEA, TEA), padimate-o, octyl dimethyl

PABA, benzophenone, oxybenzone, homosalate, octyl-methoxycinnamate (octinoxate), salicylates, and parabens.

Is there a safe sunscreen product?

We need to choose what offers the least harm. Of course, covering with clothing is always the safest, but this is not always practical, especially if our kids will be swimming in the sun for long periods. Recommendations: stay out of the sun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or cover with hats and clothing during these times. If you will be out in the sun for long periods or swimming, use a micronised zinc oxide sunscreen (my daughter will never go for the white residue of the regular zinc oxide).

Moderate sunshine every day is healthy. Exposed to longer periods of sun means we need to protect ourselves with the least toxic means possible.

Our natural sunscreen product "Suncare Plus" has micronised zinc oxide as the only active ingredient. There will always be articles that claim that zinc oxide could be unsafe. We can't say it's 100% safe (no product natural or chemical based can make this claim!). But it is the least toxic option that provides the greatest protection, next to covering up with clothing.

“Suncare plus” is an everyday natural skin care treatment that provides effective hydration, makes your skin feel and look great whilst providing 100% natural sun care with Zinc Oxide protection. Hydration and protection against the environments harmful effects, with or without a hint of colour!

Suncare plus has Antioxidant rich ingredients that help protect against free radical damage like pollution and overexposure to the elements. Instead of common synthetic chemical ingredients, Suncare Plus provides natural zinc oxide, botanical extracts and antioxidants for a completely natural, hypo- allergenic non whitening formula that protects, moisturises and soothes your skin. Formulated with Pure Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Grape seed Oil, your skin will maintain deep moisture without ever feeling greasy. Suitable for all skin types oily or dry and of course it is recommended for sensitive skin, young children and babies.

The sunscreen mineral is zinc oxide, which is recognised as the most effective natural screen against sun. Sunscreen without the toxicity. Natural Skin Care comfortable to use on babies, children, adults, grandparents… the whole family!
